What I do

• MES solution architecture. Scoping, designing and delivering MES for discrete manufacturing, with hands-on experience of the Apriso platform (screens, views, layouts and operations built in Process Builder).
• Manufacturing data foundations. BOM and routing structure (EBOM / PBOM / MBOM), work centers, planning hierarchy and the master data that APS and MES depend on.
• Integration of the planning stack. How ERP, MRP, APS and MES divide the work, and where the hand-offs usually break.
• Working knowledge of the shop floor layer, including SCADA and Siemens TIA Portal.

Why this site

This site is the English side of “犀牛鸟智造” (Xiniuniao Zhizao), also known in English as Hornbill Smart Manufacturing. I also write a WeChat official account for people who run factories and the systems around them. This site collects those articles and the one-page illustrated "knowledge cards" that go with them. Most of it is in Chinese; the English articles here are translations of my own pieces, chosen because they show how I think about planning, product structure and digitalization.

The articles are general methods and industry knowledge. They do not describe any client's or employer's confidential systems or data.
